Origin

Aquiares is the largest coffee farm in Costa Rica, where sustainability, regenerative agriculture and quality meet in one place. We wondered where the name Aquiares came from and discovered that in the indigenous Hueter language it means “Land between rivers”. The farm lies between 820 and 1,400 metres above sea level, in the mountains of Turrialba.

Diego Robelo is the new generation of producers at Aquiares and leads the post-harvest and sustainability processes. He firmly believes that for the farm to remain highly productive it needs good farming practices: from planting shade trees and caring for the local bird and animal species to good water management.
