Guji is an Ethiopian specialty coffee grown in the Mulish area of the Guji district, at between 1,800 and 1,950 metres above sea level. Natural processed: the beans are dried inside the whole cherry under the Ethiopian sun, creating a fruity, juicy profile with great aromatic complexity.
The Heirloom variety, a legacy of Ethiopia's wild forests, brings a unique genetic diversity that translates into a cup full of nuance: ripe plum, chocolate and a body that coats the palate.

FAQs — Guji Ethiopia
How should I enjoy Guji Ethiopia?
Black is how it best expresses its fruity profile. As a filter or V60, the plum notes and aromatic complexity come through. With milk it's still enjoyable, although it loses some of its fruity character.
What are the best brew methods?
Filter / V60 / Chemex: The method that best expresses its fruity, aromatic profile.
Espresso: Intense and fruity, with a long plum and chocolate aftertaste.
Cold brew: Its fruity notes work really well cold — refreshing and naturally sweet.
Is it available whole bean or ground?
Available as whole bean or ground — for espresso, moka pot, filter and French press. Choose your option when adding it to your basket.
Is it a strong or mild coffee?
It's a medium-intensity coffee with a dominant fruity, aromatic profile. It isn't bitter — its defining traits are fruit and liveliness, not strength. Ideal if you're looking for something different from classic coffees.
What is the natural process in coffee?
In the natural process, the bean dries inside the whole cherry under the sun. As it dries, the sugars in the pulp infuse the bean, producing sweeter, fruitier profiles with more body. It's Ethiopia's traditional method and explains Guji's characteristic fruit intensity.
What's the difference between specialty coffee and regular coffee?
Specialty coffee is selected by origin, variety and process, with full traceability back to the farm. It's roasted lighter to preserve the bean's own flavours, without the bitterness of industrial dark roasts. The result is a cup with defined flavours and no defects.
How should I store my coffee?
In a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Not in the fridge — moisture affects the flavour. Reseal the bag tightly after each use.
What is the shelf life?
Best enjoyed within 9 months of the roast date shown on the bag.

Guji Ethiopia Coffee: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How can I best enjoy Guji Ethiopia?
Guji Ethiopia is a specialty coffee with a unique profile of fruity flavours such as plum and chocolate, with a juicy body and balanced acidity. To get the most out of it, we recommend filter methods such as Chemex, V60 or AeroPress, which bring out its complexity and fruity notes. You can also enjoy it as espresso for an intense, concentrated experience.
What are the best brewing methods for Guji Ethiopia?
Guji Ethiopia stands out for its delicate notes and well-balanced acidity, which makes it an excellent coffee for manual brewing methods such as:
Chemex: ideal for bringing out clarity and fruity notes.
V60: perfect for highlighting floral and fruity notes.
AeroPress: for a cup with body and a good balance of acidity and flavour.
Espresso: if you prefer a more concentrated cup, it is also an excellent option for extracting its complex flavours.
How should I store my Guji Ethiopia coffee?
To keep your coffee fresh and full of flavour, store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid keeping it in the fridge, as moisture can affect its quality. Keep the bag tightly closed to prevent oxidation.
What is the shelf life of Guji Ethiopia coffee?
Best enjoyed within 9 months of the roast date shown on the bag. That way you get it at its freshest and most flavourful.
Does Guji Ethiopia suit every palate?
Guji Ethiopia is ideal if you enjoy complex, fruity coffees. Its fruity flavour profile, with notes of plum and chocolate, makes it perfect for palates that like coffees with bright acidity and a juicy body. However, if you lean towards darker, less acidic coffees, you may prefer to explore other options with a smoother, less acidic profile.
Can I use Guji Ethiopia for cold preparations such as cold brew?
Absolutely! Guji Ethiopia is excellent for cold coffee such as cold brew. Its fruity, smooth profile translates very well into cold drinks, giving a refreshing cup with a gentle sweetness. For cold brew, use a higher coffee ratio and let it steep in cold water for 12–24 hours. This method brings out the fruity notes and keeps the coffee smooth.
