The Story Behind Every Cup

More than 2,000 metres above sea level, in the green mountains of Sonsón, Antioquia, lies the home of La Pradera, a specialty coffee that reflects the passion and dedication of Ubeimar Flórez Henao. Ubeimar isn't just a coffee grower; his life has been intertwined with coffee since he was seven, when he took part in the "Cafeteritos" programme, an educational initiative that sparked his love for the bean.

Today, together with his wife and two daughters, Ubeimar works tirelessly on his farm, La Pradera, aiming not only to offer high-quality coffee but also to build a sustainable future for his community. The 8.7-hectare farm is a testament to family effort and a commitment to excellence.

Craft in Every Bean

Producing La Pradera is as meticulous as it is fascinating. Every cherry is hand-picked at optimal ripeness. Fermentation is a craft process that starts with 6 hours in the cherry, followed by 60 hours in the mucilage, blending in fresh lots to boost flavour complexity. The coffee is then carefully washed and sun-dried for 4 days, resulting in a cup that captures the essence of the land and its producer's dedication.

A Profile for Every Moment

La Pradera offers a unique sensory experience. Its sweet notes of stone fruit and dark chocolate are complemented by a round, silky body that coats the palate. It's a balanced, enveloping coffee, perfect at any time of day. Its smooth yet characterful profile makes it the ideal companion if you want a cup you'll always feel like drinking.

Committed to Quality and Community

Ubeimar Flórez doesn't just grow coffee; he cultivates dreams and family traditions. His vision is clear: to improve the living conditions of his family and community through specialty coffee production. Every bag of La Pradera carries not only carefully selected beans but also the story of a family that believes in the transformative power of coffee.
